First. Preparation before installation
1.Tool And Material
Tools: Tape measure, pencil, screwdriver (select cross or slotted according to the type of handle screw), electric drill (if you need to punch holes), hole opener (optional, for reaming), level (make sure the handle is installed properly).
Materials: furniture handles, matching screws (usually included with the handles, pay attention to whether the length is suitable for the thickness of the furniture panel)
2. Confirm the handle type
Common types:
Single-hole handle: suitable for drawers, small cabinet doors, only 1 mounting hole is required.
Double-hole handles: The most common, such as cabinet doors and wardrobe door handles, require 2 holes to be secured.
Strip handle: long strip, fixed hole spacing (such as 64mm, 96mm, 128mm, etc.), the hole position needs to be marked according to the spacing.
Invisible handle: Installed on the inside or edge of the cabinet door, the installation method is different from the ordinary handle, please refer to the specific manual.

Second. Installation steps (take double-hole handle as an example)
1. Mark the holes
Measurement positioning:
Determine the position of the handle on the door panel (usually centered or according to the design needs). For example, cabinet door handles are typically 1/3 of the way from the top and bottom edges, with drawer handles centered.
Use a tape measure to measure and mark the center position of the two holes, make sure that the hole position is level (can be calibrated with a level), and the spacing between the two holes should be consistent with the hole spacing of the handle screws (for example, the distance between the handle holes should be 96mm, and the center distance between the two holes should also be 96mm when marking).

Note: If there is an old handle hole in the door panel, you need to confirm whether the new handle hole spacing matches the old hole, otherwise you may need to fill the old hole and re-punch the hole.
2. Punch holes (if you need to create a new hole)
Use a pencil to mark the center of the marked point, and the drill is mounted with a drill bit that matches the diameter of the screw (usually 3-5mm).
Drill the hole slowly perpendicular to the surface of the door panel, to a depth where the screws can penetrate the door panel but not expose the tip (to avoid scratching the inside of the furniture or the user).

Tip: If the door panel is a thin board (such as MDF, particleboard), you can pad a waste wood board when drilling to prevent the edge of the board from cracking.
3. Install the handle
Place the handle on the outside of the door panel so that the screw holes are aligned with the holes in the door panel.
Insert the screws from the inside of the door panel, pass through the handle screw hole, and tighten with a screwdriver (note that the screws on both sides are tightened alternately to avoid skewed handles).
After tightening, check whether the handle is firm and level, if it is loose or skewed, adjust it and re-tighten it.

4. Single-hole handle installation points
Similar to a double hole, the hole marker requires only 1 hole, and the screw is threaded through the handle hole from the inside and tightened (some single-hole handles may have a nut that needs to be secured from the inside).
5. Strip handle installation
Mark the hole positions at both ends according to the handle length and hole spacing to ensure that the hole spacing is accurate, and fix both ends with screws after punching.
Third. Precautions
1.Screw length adaptation: If the screw is too long, it will penetrate the door panel, and if it is too short, it will not be fixed firmly. Recommended screw length = door panel thickness Handle base thickness (or screw post length) - 1-2mm (reserved tightening space).
2.Avoid scratching the surface: A soft cloth can be placed on the surface of the door panel during installation to prevent the tool from scratching the paint or panel.
3.Old hole treatment: If the old hole position does not match when replacing the handle, it can be filled with a wooden stopper, putty or caulk similar to the color of the door panel, and then polished and smoothed after drying.
4.Invisible handle installation: It needs to be positioned according to the manual (if installed on the inner edge of the cabinet door), which may involve slotting or special fixing methods, it is recommended to strictly follow the steps.
5.Test pull inspection: After the installation is completed, open and close the drawer or cabinet door many times to confirm that the handle is used smoothly and there is no loosening or abnormal noise.
Forth, common problems solved
Hole deviation: if the deviation is small, the position of the handle can be slightly adjusted and fixed with screws; If the deviation is large, it is necessary to fill the old hole and re-mark the punch.
Screw slippage: Due to the mismatch between the diameter of the screw and the hole position, you can replace the slightly thicker screw or use a toothpick dipped in glue to plug the hole and then tighten the screw (temporary remedy).
Handle shaking: check whether the screws are tightened, if the door panel material is soft, you can add a gasket on the inside of the screw hole to increase the force area.
